The 2013 Middle Distance championships were held on Sunday September 8th in Sandon Forest near Newstead. The terrain was not steep, and there was little undergrowth. Yarra Valley’s Womens 65 runners took out the first 3 placings for the second week in a row, following their domination at the Long Distance Championships on September 1st. And the order was the same too: Kathy first, then Ruth, then Libby.
Yarra Valley’s placegetters were:
1st place: Kathy Liley W65, John Dempster M75, Graeme Cadman M80;
2nd place: Ruth Goddard W65, Ted van Geldermalsen M55, Alex Tarr M65;
3rd place: Libby Meeking W65, Tim Dent M65.
A large contingent from YVOC will be heading up to Canberra in late September for the Australian Championships carnival. This will include Sprint, Long Distance, Middle Distance and Relay championships over a period of 9 days.
